Sometimes I Eat When I Feel Bored - Pandaraps

This one was a “late” entry into the album of the year game, but it was a love at first listen, so there was no way it couldn’t make this list. When I put this on, it turns into what I need every time. The album is chill, but something that I can for sure dance to. Pandaraps has a nice thought behind his stuff and really knows how to put some words together. I’m here for the food and the inclusivity.

Phantoms - Marianas Trench

Within the last few years I’ve been getting more and more into Marianas Trench, but didn’t catch them live during their Astoria days. Fast forward to a new tour coming my way, I decided to get on Phantoms to kinda be prepared and I was not disappointed. They make music to sing along to, and I can sing along to just about the whole album. Although they are pop rock for sure, I think the album is heavier and darker than I feel like it is at first listen, when I get to the lyrics there’s some sad and lonely stuff up in there. Their stuff is very theatrical, so it all makes sense. That being said, I’m here for it all.

Hôtel De Ville - Scott Helman

This album may be a few years old, but I’m getting through it for the first time this year. I already been in love with the song House Key from the album for over a year, but when that same tour for Mariana’s Trench came about, I went and checked out the entire album and I’ve fallen in love. Hôtel De Ville makes me want to run around in another country and be in that love. Scott Helman does great work.
