based on your rb: i'm just curious on your take/thoughts on flowey! and if you want to expand on it his dynamic with frisk or clover c:
one of my big regrets of best friends forever? is that I don't think I did enough to show what Flowey really thinks of Clover (and vice versa though not quite as badly in Clover's case), because it ended up being a Chara & Flowey fic with Clover as a plot device. which is not to say that there isn't any insight in there, but that it's not as much of a centerpiece as I thought Clover would be when I originally started it, because it was originally going to be Chara & Clover with Flowey as the plot device. but like one of the things I always feel drawn to with regards to Clover and Flowey's dynamic is that Flowey still sees himself as well. being the same. but he's Chara, and Clover is Asriel. because of his vision of Chara as a role model (WHICH IS BAD). in the timespan that the canon of UTY takes place in Chara is hovering over that dynamic as the unspoken ghost of friendship past and I think it's reaaaaaally fascinating. and one of these days I think I'd like to talk about that with Chara not being a Literal Character In The Story.
as for Frisk...I did write the heart that beats inside you a few months ago; one of the interesting things I find about a post-Pacifist dynamic between them is the idea of Frisk and Flowey as parallels, as characters that held control of the universe in their hands and experimented with it. and I do still stand by that fic, because I think soulless pacifist is the most interesting angle to explore the two of them from (as long as you don't think Chara kills everyone in soulless pacifist, which like, I don't). Frisk who is a being without a soul by choice. Flowey who is a being without a soul and wants desperately not to be. it's the most interesting version of exploring Frisk and Flowey, because of the aforementioned timeline meddling dynamic.
in general I don't think I can really talk about Flowey without also talking about Chara and Asriel, because his trauma around his death is what's shaped Flowey. I really like when characters in the process of grieving someone become the person that they're grieving, and that's an interesting case with Flowey because of the ways in which Chara hurt him before their deaths.
