What sort of positioning/size rules or techniques when displaying flowers through a paned window? When seen from both sides there will be either the pane in the way or the shadow of the pane unless you add light. Perhaps take into account type of glass-clear/glazed, or when you open the windows?
Hi Nonny,
Very good questions. I have immediately several things to consider, but my first question is going to be: Is the arrangement supposed to be primarily viewed through the paned window or not? The shadow of the panes is no big deal, lots of things cast a shadow through a window, this is no different unless it really bothers your character. And if it is mainly viewed from in front of the paned window instead of through it they can put about any arrangement they fancy in front of it. Unless it is for some reason really important to incorporate the paned window in the design. In which case the florist would have to know not only how many panes but also what size they are since the flowers would have to be arranged accordingly.
If the arrangement is supposed to be viewed primarily through the paned window, your character might benefit not from a bound arrangement but instead, several small ones made with floral foam which can be arranged to benefit the disrupted view. Otherwise small glass flasks hung from a frame around the window might work. Would require a lot and regular water refills from your character though and they would do better to keep the window closed not to disturb the arrangement.
Another question I’d like to consider. Is the paned window simply in view with the arrangement or is it directly in front of it? If it’s simply part of the view, again, your character can put any arrangement they fancy in the room.
