bottle with apple cider vinegar and soap and a funnel leading into it. fruit flies go in for the acv, get stuck because of the soap, and can't fly out because of the funnel. worked wonders for me.

apple cider vinegar + a bit of dish soap. Some people leave it open. I like to put cling wrap over it and poke in holes so they can't escape again. Cuz sometimes they just do. But they're idiots who can't get back out of a tiny hole.

Small bowl filled with alcohol, fruit juice, water, and a small piece of submerged overripe fruit. Add a few drops of dish soap. Works for us every time.
I HAVE BEEN DOING THE ACV AND SOAP in a mason jar..... i do have bowls tho
