I Just Work Here (Open)
There's something walking in the Shadows behind you. It follows in your footsteps. It leans over your shoulder with rancid breath against your cheek. It whispers to you not to look it in the eyes.There's no telling how long it's followed you now. It's pulse beats along with yours. Weaving its way into your veins and cemented in your chest. Cold and lonely, it tells you.
The place it comes from is vast and untouched. A world without sight and without sensation. Everlasting nothing. Shadows you’d be welcomed to join.
Covering your ears to the sound but it's futile. It's in your head. It's woeful voice is beckoning. There's something it desires. It's sensation that it craves. A hunger that is never satisfied. And around you, in the waking world where normal lives continue without the persistence of an unwelcome resident.

Panora made every attempt to appear normal. Shaking her head to try and clear out the haze that crept in. The darkening of her eyes to the creep of the black markings under her skin. There was a constant battle of ice and fire in her chest that made it difficult to concentrate. But she managed. Like she always did.
The shop where she worked part time was already busy. The owner being an anon blood that kept his mouth shut but his eyes sharp. He always watched her closely, feeling his gaze from the moment she walked in till she vanished into the back to change. But he rarely spoke to her which was fine. Anon or not it was a very high possibility he was higher on the scale then herself so best to keep her head down in these situations. Plus he paid her pretty well for doing clean-up and simple maintenance.
Changing into her uniform, a grey button up with the game shops logo and shorts that were plain black and simple. Readying herself for a long night's shift. The gaming shop wasn't a bad place to work. The few arcade style games were ruining smoothly and in the back the cyber cafe was quiet. When she wasn't tidying up the floor or monitoring the stations she was running errands for her boss. As usual it was just her tonight. And per usual those not so nice highbloods made a their routine stop to harass her.
