Hi! For that anon that asked about the utility of validating other queer folks, I want to add this:

Hate and negativity regarding our values as people due to our queerness is a very real psychological trauma that affects the way someone values and appreciates their own life. Being treated as subhuman is inherently depressing and harmful, and leads to mental health crises, self-hatred, and the rejection of other queer people. By being told that you're a valuable and Valid person worthy of all the same benefits of life as any non-queer person, you can then move on from your internalized biases and prejudices to face the systemic ones that affect all queer people. If you fundamentally don't believe that you're valid (worthy of love and respect), then you don't believe that for other community members, and therefore you probably aren't in the mindset to fight for anyone's gender and sexual rights, yours or others.

So, know that you are loved and worthy of being loved just as you are, just as any human person, and then fight the systemic powers where you live that attempt to control your narrative and your freedoms, in policy, in healthcare, in careers, in opportunities, and etc.
