Raccoon stuff I know off the top of my head!

-Studies have noticed city raccoons are sort of ‘evolving’ in a way. They’re becoming smarter in order to access food whenever humans find new ways to protect their garbage. Raccoons will work together to get into trash cans, it’s quite fascinating to watch!

-They have hyper-sensitive paw pads that allow them to ‘see’ any objects without actual vision being required

-Raccoons ‘wash’ their food to better observe it, since their paw pads work better underwater

-Raccoons are also good swimmers and can stay in water for several hours

-They come in a huge variety of colors!

-Raccoons are noted as being quite smart

-They’re highly adaptable and can live in just about any environment

-Raccoons are opportunistic omnivores and have a wide diet

-They are also quite good at climbing, and are able to drop from high up on a tree

-Raccoons can run up to 15mph

-While mainly nocturnal, raccoons can also be seen during the day. Mostly, this is to gain more food opportunities.

-Raccoons make all sorts of differing noises

-They can fit into very tight spaces as well, making them incredible at hiding

-Despite many people trying to keep pet raccoons, they are not domesticated. It’s not ethical to try to keep a pet raccoon, and frankly the behavior is disgusting. Raccoons are wild animals, despite many’s efforts to ‘tame’ them. Just get a pet cat instead lol.
