Simon falls a little bit in love with everyone he meets. He’s always had a big, open heart. Reportedly he was a sweet, adoring kid, whom grew into a man that catches crushes like some people catch colds. The man at the cafe that gave him a large cappuccino for the price of a small, a girl who made eye contact with him at one of his gigs and had giggled before looking away, the nonbinary person in his French class that always helped him with his homework.

His heart stutters every time Maia grins at him, each time he catches a whiff of her perfume when she passes. Even Jace, who is objectively an asshole, manages to make him smile.

There wasn’t a definite moment when he realized he wasn’t straight. The sky is blue, grass is green, and there is too much beauty in the world for Simon to ever think to limit himself to just one form of it.
