Pat’s Powers: Wood/Paper Manipulation.
(Totally didn’t think this up one night at 2 AM while messing with origami)
Pat can control things made out of or from wood based materials with his mind. he mainly sticks with actual wood and paper. His power controls and manipulates things with only his mind. You can see him almost all the time with his hands in some sort or pocket. However if he wants to throw or launch anything in a direction he’s gonna need to have an arm or even a finger out. All he has to do is think of the thing he wants to control and swing his arm or finger in the direction he wants it to go. Finger is used for small objects and his whole arm is used for larger objects. There is no limit to how big of an object he can throw or lift with his power, ehh except maybe energy and how lazy he’s feeling.
Pat’s powers are limited to controlling things around him. He doesn’t have the ability to just generate wood or paper out of nowhere. He carries small wooden steaks on him just in case but that’s about it. It really depends on his environment.
In battle he prefers staying in the back ranged. His attacks are limited to only being able to manipulate what he has already done and is logically possible. For example he has to memorize how to fold a paper crane before being able to do it with his power. Pat works with Owosa to come up with more ideas for uses for his power. They’re googling things to make out of wood and origami stuff.
use paper to cover his enemies body and eyes
can make wooden steaks to impale things
if ever in cqc he’ll beat enemy with a large stick or something
uses paper planes or even paper cranes to distract enemies
basic throwing sticks and stuff
predict if there’s stuff on the ground and trips up enemies
give people paper cuts
Remember that his powers are based on what can logically happen to the objects he controls and uses. He can’t make a paper or wooden sword and make it so it’s as strong as a metal sword or as sharp.
How useful is this power other than for combat? Not much. Pat is can be lazy when it comes to learning new techniques. Mostly he’ll use his power when he’s bored to fold a bunch of paper cranes. Entertainment.

What I did last night the moment I came up with the idea.
Reference?
Very interesting the light that comes through the foldings, combining with the different papers. I think this is a very effective way to enhance the contrasts that my brief is also all about.
After the paper airplanes, we were asked to transform them into a 3D sculpture. I started layering the initial black paper with a soft grey tissue paper. I like the effect that this layering creates with the shadows and the gradation in colour. Also I found really interesting the different creases that each paper had.
Paper Vessels & porcelain/bone china burn-out process workshop
This morning we spent our time exploring the paper technique of twirling and wrapping, to transform it into a vessel. It is a very simple but at the same time painstaking technique that requires a lot of patience. The result though, is worth it. I did small samples but I could easily imagine the impact it could have in a larger scale.
