Spring 2017 Internship at Paper Tiger Television
Paper Tiger TV is looking for a self-motivated individual who can take the lead on projects and complete tasks independently, but can also work with the collaborative structure of a collective. This person will work on various aspects of video production from research, to filming and editing. In addition, the intern will participate in biweekly meetings discussing current collective projects and social outreach for the collective.
This position is ideal for someone committed to working towards social and economic justice and interested in engaging with media activism, media critique, community-based media, collectives, non-hierarchical organizational models, solidarity economy, and social movements.
Main goals:
* Create new web and video content in collaboration with collective members.
* Work with collective to expand our audience through social media and other forms of outreach.
* Help strategize how the collective can maintain its vitality in a crowded media environment.
* Help organize screenings and other events.
* Be an active voice and participant in the collective’s decision making process on matters such as outreach, events, screenings, and distribution.
**Video production experience is preferred but not required.**
An internship at Paper Tiger is an opportunity to work in a small media arts non-profit and gain a wide range of experiences. We encourage interns to take initiative while learning more about our collective process. We will work with you to create an internship that is both suited to your interests and meets the current priorities of the collective. We intend to learn as much from you as you will learn from us. We hope you will learn from being a part of the collective and work closely with staff and collective members as much as possible.
Logistics:
This internship is unpaid, but we can provide transportation reimbursement or a Metrocard stipend. This internship can also count for school credit —just let us know in advance.
A 3-month commitment (February-April) of 8-10 hours a week is needed; preferably afternoons/evenings, as those are the hours our members and staff are in, but this is flexible. Attending collective meetings every other Monday from 7:30-9pm is highly encouraged.
Any age; people of color, LGBTQ, and previously incarcerated people are strongly encouraged to apply.
How to Apply:
• Send your resume and a thoughtful cover letter (both in PDF) addressed to Paper Tiger TV Collective. Please include why you would like to have this experience, let us know what your interests are and what stood out of the above description.
• Send PDFs to: julie (at) papertiger.org - Subject: Spring 2017 Internship: "your name here".

• DEADLINE: Open until filled
