Read-Through!

re-reading the mecha sally arch (issues 230-47) while i prepare some character bios for the au... so here's a read-through! :> i'll prolly divide it issue-by-issue idk

issue 230 ("Two Steps Back...")

i've always loved ben bates' work, it's absolutely gorgeous. i wish he carried on through to the idw comics as well (to my understanding, he hasn't)

and the STAKES in this one... SO good.

i love that eggman is just out for blood. he wants sally DEAD dead

which of course all leads up to this excellent full-panel reveal. again, i cannot praise ben bates' art enough.

i don't really have to much to say or add about this issue beyond hyping it up... it's just one of my faves ok? ok. bye. more issues coming whenever i have the time

life update (aka "adulting")

soo obviously i havent really been super active here as of late... i've been very busy with work and trying to figure out/get into a long-term career, juggling my social life, and just managing my energy in general. i don't have as much time or energy for art as i did in school (somehow???????). when i do have that time and that energy i've been prioritizing doing what i want and what makes me happy as opposed to just... fan art. don't get me wrong! fan art is very fun and i still enjoy making it! but being completely honest, i want to prioritize making original content and more varied content. i've been enjoying doing that a lot.

i do have another art blog here on tumblr where i've been doing that. i've hummed and hawed a lot over whether or not i want to outright link this account to that one (i mean. it's not a difficult account to find at all if you do even the bare amount of searching), but at the same time, i'm not sure i want to overlap audiences. i want my personal, original art to be free from expectation. i want people to follow that blog because they like my art, not my sonic art. i want to be able to explore topics unrestricted to maintaining a pg-13 image (i'm a huge horror fan; sometimes i wanna draw blood and guts and nasties ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). maybe if there's enough demand to share my other account, i will. something for me to think about.

in the meanwhile, this account isn't going anywhere! it'll just be kind of on the back burner for me. thank you all for your support over the years :)

I think that your Sally has an interesting paralellism with Nicole, as the computer AI aspiring to be a person now finds out that her best friend is now more 'robotic' as a legacy of the roboticization. Ironically it'll be Nicole that'll try to make Sally feel alive again.

NICOOOLLLEEEE... i love this interpretation of their dynamic!! i'm still very undecided on what to do tbh. i of course am evil and 1) love angst and 2) specifically love nicole angst. i think i'll throw sallicole shippers a bone ;0 stay tuned...

nicole's pre-sgw design is near perfection to me so it's not gonna change too much LOL
