getting used to her surroundings was easier said than done. from the carriages that need no horses, the so-called smart devices, to the structures that reach high into the sky... it is all so jarring.

at least, she has to say, the devices they were given were intuitive enough.

contacts, messages, camera... the little images on the screen were labeled. despite the flat surface, it reacts; it was almost like magic. or, maybe, it is magic?

          “I don’t know why you’re asking me questions when I literally just got here yesterday, so I don’t think I can actually help with whatever you need.”

There’s no bite in his words, but a suitable amount of wariness settles in his tone as he gives the other a side glance. For all of Roxas’s curiosity, he isn’t necessarily a fan of having the focal point being himself especially with a stranger involved. Besides, he can’t answer much about the island he’s found himself on and doesn’t feel like answering much if he can anyway. Maybe it’s rude, but there’s something bone snakingly jarring about being whisked away to some strange place without any say so in the matter. His mood isn’t exactly set to right; he doubts it will be anytime soon given the circumstances.

As alien she felt, there were inevitable others who would experience the same. And without the numbness with which the subject had become accustomed to; to smile at the sight of others’ happiness, not did she frown and weep at the opposite. However, she could sympathize with the girl who roamed beneath the cheery blossoms alone. She closed in, hands rested upon her chest to assert herself not a threat or one to be suspicious of. “Would you mind if I asked something?” her voice was gentle and small, weak from a prolonged lack of verbal communication. “Might you know what is happening? The environment is far from anything that surrounds where I was prior to waking here, and there have been individuals who speak or behave with some familiarity, even though we’ve never met. Has the same occurred for you? There is a myriad of mysteries that stack up much faster than any offer resolution”.

        ❛   It’s such a relief to see this island getting back to normal --- or... What I guess is its normal !   ❜   KASUMI   crows, not one to turn down a chance at idle conversation. Now more than ever, in a place she couldn’t even begin to understand, that seemed... Pre-tty important. She cants her head toward the nearby fox village; she’d been in the process of hyping herself up to enter the village’s boundaries... Within the village they seemed capable of talking and walking like any other person --- but as soon as they stepped outside, they acted like normal foxes. It was so fascinating... !

        ❛   They carry on like nothing crazy even happened. I can’t decide if that means they’re super resilient, or that wild situations like that are just the norm here.   ❜
