Seth walked into his room after having lunch with Renee. His leg had started throbbing while he was at dinner but he didn't want Renee to worry about, so, he acted like everything was fine. He shut the door to his room, locking it behind him and sat down on his bed. He lifted his pants leg, looking at the bandage. It looked like it needed to be changed. He took the bandage off his leg. He looked at the bite mark on his leg. It looked worse then it did this morning when he put the bandage on it. He didn't understand why it was getting bad so fast. He knew he needed to get it wrapped up again before anyone tried to get back into the room and saw how bad the bite was. He grabbed the disinfectant spray and sprayed it on the bite, biting his lip at the burn he felt in his leg. He looked for the bandage on what was left of the nightstand and noticed it wasn't there. He cursed and looked around for the bandages.
Summary: Blaine decides to take a walk and runs into something that will change his life.
Notes: Physical pain.
Blaine was checking his watch when he slipped into his car's driver seat after getting one last coffee at the Lima Bean before driving home. It would be 21 hours at least and only provided they would meet the next day. Blaine sighed softly and pulled out the parking lot. His dad would be home for dinner and that could mean everything from one of the few nice family gatherings they had to tension and yelling until he was excused to go to his room. Blaine clenched his jaw and prayed that it would be a calm evening and if only because then he could maybe finally tell his dad about Kurt.
When he realized that he wasn't really paying attention to the street Blaine decided that he needed fresh air. He drove a few more minutes until he took the road to the lake – their lake – and left the Prius to take a quick walk. It was getting dark, but it was still warm and in general nice outside. Blaine's thoughts started to disentangle themselves slowly and he was feeling lighter. The lake and the memory of the few precious moments he had spent with Kurt here made him smile and he was so caught in the moment, that he didn't hear anything behind him. He didn't notice anything at all until it was too late.
Something dark blocked his way. Blaine thought it was a large dog at first but only on first glance. The wolf just stared at him and Blaine froze. He had no idea what to do now, but his instinct told him that he shouldn't run. He was still trying to find a solution when something hard hit him from behind and he fell. His face hit the ground and Blaine cried out, more out of shock than pain. At least at first. Then something sharp dug into the flesh of his shoulder and Blaine saw red and black flashes in front of his eyes. His panic made him function through his panic and he managed to throw a punch at whatever had hit him.
Scrambling to his knees he managed to draw hope from the outlook of getting up. Maybe he could get away. He touched his shoulder and whimpered when he felt something wet, but he didn't look. He didn't want to know. The wolf that had blocked his way started to run towards him and Blaine's heart was beating so fast he thought his chest would explode. He started to run, but then pain seemed to rip his body apart.
His blood felt like it was boiling in his veins and his skin like it was burning up. Blaine fell to the ground and threw himself from one side to another in an attempt to escape the pain until even that was too much to handle. Everything hurt. Blaine had to fight to keep his eyes open until they found the dark wolf and just like that, as if he was following a silent commando, he gave into the pain. The world turned into smell and sound. Something was changing. Maybe he was. But Blaine was not afraid anymore. Everything would be all right.
