He got out from the bed and placed his blackberry over on his nightstand. He walked over to the bathroom, shredded all of his clothes to take a quick shower, he was just that kind of guy that felt the need to rinse his body. He got out shortly after. Pulling on a pair of black, clean boxers before he pulled on a pair of jeans, then a simple t'shirt. He hadn't really thought about what he was doing, he didn't really want to either, not that he minded it. Not at all. And he wasn't the person to regret something the day after. He had too much to do than to regret anything he ever did.
He slicked his newly cut hair back and sat down on the bed again as he waited for her, he opened an actual book, shit, he hadn't had time to read since forever.
Notes: Santana catches up with Brittany over the internet.
Santana loaded up her MacBook, nestled on the couch in the main living space of the New York apartment. Truth be told, she'd missed Brittany more than her own family. Britt was always her go-to when she was sad, or just needed someone to talk to. Sure, they weren't dating any more, but Santana knew she'd always have a soft spot, a place in her heart, just for her best friend. Well, the girl she thought of as her best friend. She was no longer convinced that Brittany thought the same way as she did. Sighing stiffly, Santana logged into Skype before running her hands through her hair and sweeping it around to the side of her neck.
Brittany: placed her phone down on her bed and jumped off her bed, going to sit at her desk where her laptop currently was. She logged it on quickly, excited to see Santana. She'd been busy with school and everything else recently, that she hadn't had chance to see her at all. She felt bad about it, especially when the blonde had heard about what happened with Quinn and Sam. She didn't like the thought of any of them being sad but there was nothing she could do except try and be there. A hand flew up to her ponytail as she waited for the chat to start, tugging at the bobble and pulling it out so it fell around her shoulders. ''San! Hey! I miss you.'' Brittany grinned.
Santana grinned as soon as she saw a familiar face appear on the computer screen. It was completely insane, being so far apart from the girl she once considered her soul-mate. She was practically on the opposite side of the damn continent. "Hey, B. Someone looks beautiful." Santana chuckled lightly, slouching on the couch slightly as she bit down on her lower lip, her dark eyes shining.
Brittany: felt her face light up as she shifted on the seat, getting comfy. ''You mean yourself?'' She laughed back, eyebrows raising teasingly. It was amazing how a simple conversation could make her so happy, just because it was with the Latina. She may have broken Brittany's heart a few times, but somehow all of that faded away with a cute smile and a cheesy compliment by the girl in question.
Santana rolled her eyes playfully, before letting out a deflated sigh. She'd just felt so empty lately. Not really hurting in particular, but just a dull, aching numbness that inhabited her whole being. "Obviously. I'm all kinds of hot." She teased back, before looking around the apartment and lowering her voice slightly. "Everyone's so pissed off at me."
Brittany: 's face turned concerned as she heard the sigh. She knew her ex-girlfriend well and could tell when she wasn't exactly in the greatest of moods. ''You are. You're like, a goddess.'' Matter of factly, Brittany nodded to herself as if confirming the statement very seriously. Her eyebrows furrowed at the next comment. ''I'm not mad at you.'' A scrunch of her nose and the blonde was leaning forward, placing her chin in the palm of her head as she got ready to support Santana and try and make her feel better. ''Do you know why? I thought you apologized for the Sam thing...''
Santana was relieved to know that at least one person was always on her side. Then again, Brittany saw the good in everyone, but it comforted her. Shrugging, Santana bit her lip as she looked around the living area before bringing her knees to her chest and resting the laptop on her kneecaps. "I don't know. I guess I kinda bitched out about Berry, but everyone does that, right? No one actually likes her." Santana mumbled bitterly. She supposed that people couldn't hate her forever. She'd been super nice to Sam lately, after all.
Brittany: chewed on the inside of her lip. She knew that no matter what Santana did wrong, Britt would always end up being on her side because she loved her and she always would. They were bonded and that wasn't going away any time soon, if ever. ''I like her... And I know you secretly do, too.'' Trailing off, she figured that probably wouldn't help the other girl feel better. ''It's not your fault though. You bitch out at people when you're angry. People should have expected to see Snix after the Quinn drama and it's not your fault they didn't prepare themselves.'' A shrug, and Brittany tried to smile comfortingly.
Santana nodded in agreement, a small smile creeping onto her face as she watched Brittany closely. The other girl looked so much more grown-up, knowledgeable, mature than she remembered. But that beautiful innocence was still there. Always would be. "Yeah. If you say so, B. I tried to be calm and nice, you know? I just can't do that. That's not me." She shuffled slightly on the couch as she heard someone enter the bathroom, presumably Adam, Kurt or Rachel. "How's Lord T?"
Brittany: hummed slightly, thinking. ''I know. I know you. Maybe... have you thought about apologizing? It would probably help in making people un-pissed.'' She did know Santana, probably better than anybody else and truthfully, Britt loved that. Even if their friendship wasn't what it used to be yet, they were still closer than Brittany was with anybody else. ''He's good. I think he might be getting sick, though. He stays inside a lot and he doesn't go play with his gang which is weird for him. I think it's cause my sister was feeding him chocolate so he's just a bit under the weather because he only likes Cadbury's and she gave him Galaxy instead.'' Brittany turned her head to try and find the cat and saw him sitting on her bed, she turned the laptop for a second to Santana could see him. ''Say hi to Santana, Tubbs!''
Santana took in Brittany's advice about apologizing, but didn't comment on it. She decided to sleep on it and make a decision the next day. Or maybe the next week. Or next month. As soon as she managed to shake that lingering thought front the forefront of her mind, she noticed Britt's screen set on her obese cat. Grinning properly now, Santana's eyes crinkled slightly at the side. "Hey, Tubs. He looks good, Britt. I think that diet's paid off." Santana chuckled, brushing a few strands of dark hair away from her forehead. She couldn't deny that she was still in love with this girl. But things were messy for both of them. She wasn't about to throw away their friendship for her own feelings.
Brittany: grinned, eyes affectionate as they were on her beloved cat. She'd had him since she was a kid, and loved him, despite his grumpiness and weight. ''You think?'' Her eyes lit up as she turned the screen back towards herself. ''Score! Me and my little sister were going to start taking him on cat-walks if he didn't start loosing weight soon. Lucy brought a cat lead and everything.'' It was nice to talk naturally about simple things again, like it was when they were together. Brittany missed it. A lot.
Santana laughed warmly again, her eyes downcast for a second as she just remembered distance. That tonight, after the time they spent together, Santana wouldn't be able to fall sleep against the blonde dancer's toned frame, wrapped safely in the other girl's embrace. Away from all her demons and fears. "I do. He could totally model for Feline Forever 21 now. But, you could take him on walks too. I'm sure he'd like to see the ducks down at the park. I know you do."
Brittany: barked out a laugh, head falling forward as she chuckled and her hair falling in her face. The moment of laughter passed, and she was brushing the blonde strands from her face, tucking it behind her ear. ''Feline Forever 21 sounds like the best shop ever. If we can't get him a job there, you'll have to ask Kurt if he can get him a job modelling for Vogue.'' Her bright grin sobered up a little, and turned into a small but very genuine smile. ''True... I really love ducks.'' And she most especially loved seeing them with Santana.
Santana nodded, glancing over at the clock. She had to work on her resume, and as much as she adored talking to Brittany, she really needed to start pulling her weight around the apartment. She was conflicted for a second, before settling for the 'greater good'. Even if that good sucked major ass. "I know, Princessa. I know." She said hurriedly, before she could stop the old nickname from tumbling past her lips. Inwardly cussing herself, she pouted slightly, tilting her head to the side. "I have to go, Britt-Britt. But we can do this again some other time, right? I love you lots and lots." Santana blew a kiss to the camera, her eyes shining from the reflection of the screen.
Brittany: felt warmth spread throughout her at the nickname, eyes lighting up. It disappointed her that Santana had to go, but she was in New York now, with a new important life and because Brittany loved her, she wanted it to be as successful as possible. Santana deserved the world and more, and she would get it, Britt was sure. The blonde matched her pout, unable to stop thinking how cute the other girl looked on the screen. ''Of course we can! Whenever you want. All the time. Just...text me.'' She didn't want to sound desperate but her words were hurried, but at the same time, excited - excited at the prospect of doing this again. ''I love you like jelly tots and vodka shots!'' Grinning again, she puckered her lips and blew a kiss back.
She couldn´t believe she was about to do this… Being there, parked in front of Brittany´s house, after passing by like 8 times, she still couldn´t find in her guts the courage to do that… To open her car´s door and go talk to Britt.
She cried a little in her bathroom, because of her abuela and her reaction after seeing her... that killed Santana.. and now she was... what? looking for redemption?
And this hurts.. Seeing Britt at the musical, coming back earlier just for that, not to help, but to see her , hurts like hell… and not seeing her the entire weekend just help to kill here even more…
How could she be so stupid? and afraid all over again? She had lost Brittany and probably forever… even after she said she wasn´t dating anyone new, Santana knew that was just a matter of time.. Until Sam make his move.. Or anyone else.. cause Britt… Britt was so damn special and God, she loved her…
So, she check her make up on the rearview mirror and took a deep breath, before exiting the car. She tried to walk tall and proud, like she always did.
But she was so scared of Britt´s reaction… How come someone made her feel so strong and at the same time, so weak?
She ringed the doorbell and waited… She just came fro Louisville, after knewing about Brittany´s condition.. she need to talk to her… what? just best friend now?
