Leap of Faith | Lu Han&Jeongmin
Lu Han had never been one to sleep well. His sleep was always disturbed by the dreams of the other people around him, invading his, but he found he didn't mind. He hadn't specifically requested a room to himself because he knew that as long as there were other people thinking and dreaming around him, he would never be able to sleep well.
Off the island, he had taken to using sleeping pills and other methods to knock himself out, but on the island, he'd run out of pills.
He looked over at his roommate's bed, wondering what Jeongmin was up too. Sure, it was late, but was Jeongmin sleeping? Lu Han looked out the window, at the darkness that muffled the area around them. Because of the limited electricity and power, everything on the island seemed so...primitive.
It was weird, for Lu Han, who used to need to be physically removed from his phone. He couldn't use his phone much these days. He didn't get service out here and his phone was dead anyway. He drew his knees to his chest, wrapping his arms around them as he looked out the window. It was slightly chilly, but that was what blankets were for, he guessed. He tugged it closer around himself, shuffling slightly as he yawned.
His eyelids started drooping, before a sudden flash of lightning and a scream made him jerk back upright. His heart sped up, as he looked around almost frantically, trying to find the source. He calmed down when he realized it was just someone's dream, probably from next door. He thought about the scotch he had tucked away under his bed, smiling slightly to himself as he remembered why he had stashed it there.
Swinging his feet off his bed, Lu Han knelt down and dug one bottle out from underneath a loose floorboard. He rocked back onto his heels, popping the bottle open. The smell wafted up towards him and Lu Han closed his eyes for a brief moment, taking in the distinctive smell of the alcohol.
He swallowed, throat suddenly dry.
