Of Cats and Mice @Sammy
The communal areas of the Asylum were one of his definite favorite places. They had comfortable enough couches that were long enough for him to lounge comfortably on, and when he turned up in the communal room, everyone usually had enough sense to leave him alone. Since there wasn’t a TV, radio or anything particularly interesting, though, he really didn’t have much to do besides stare at the decaying ceiling and plot.
He tugged at the collar around his neck, feeling it hum under his calloused turquoise fingers. The blasted thing was a constant reminder of how they locked his own powers from him like they were wrong. Like he should be ashamed of them. It absolutely infuriated him, and every time he felt it around his neck, he could feel the constant pressure of rage in his core grow all the more unbearably violent. His ears twitch ever so slightly at the sound of quiet breathing and he focuses on the subtle noise, tuning in to hear a steady heartbeat.
Someone was in the communal area while he was in it. This was entirely unacceptable.
Dan pushes himself up on elbows on the couch, looking over the top of the couch and narrowing his crimson eyes at the intruder, a feral growl clawing its way up his throat. “You.” He hisses, sitting up entirely and standing, rounding the couch to come closer to her, “Are you stupid or do you have a death wish? I’m in here, which means you can’t be in here. So scram, short stuff.” He snorts indignantly, turning his back to the therapist, expecting to hear the click of her heels walking off.
