THREE WORDS, EIGHT LETTERS || DANTANA
When her parents had agreed to let her stay in New York for the holiday, Dani had been beyond thrilled and it hadn’t taken more than a second for Rachel and Kurt to invite them to the flat. It felt more like home than Texas would have, and she had been more excited than a four year old. It wasn’t just that Christmas had always been more about the Church and Jesus than anything else, it was the fact that she actually felt the holiday spirit for the first time ever, and it gave her flutters she didn’t quite understand. Santana had taken the liberty to drag her beneath every single mistletoe within the nearest miles, but she would never complain. Especially not when she also put one up right above your bed. That came in handy quite a few times Harper, and you know it all too well. When they had arrived, a loud squeal of joy had managed to fall from her lips as soon as she saw the tree, and she’d begun to jump up and down in excitement. Christmas back home hadn’t been about presents, so all Dani had needed was that big beautiful tree and her Christmas was perfect.
After several plates of food, they’d all helped out with the dishes and gathered around in the living room, chatting and enjoying one another’s company until laughter turned into yawns. Dani had been situated in Santana’s lap, but as the hours had gone by, her head had moved to the crook of the woman’s neck as she’d let her eyes close as her breath repeatedly hit one of the older woman’s soft spots. When Rachel and Kurt had bid them a goodnight, they retreated to what Dani had been told was Santana’s old room. Or well.. It has two walls and two curtains, but no one can see. A mattress for the two of them had been placed in the middle, and their small overnight bags were the only other things in the room. They had hardly made it behind the curtain before their lips had been connected, and as Santana had laid her down gently, it hadn’t taken long for either of them to strip out of their clothes. Now they found themselves wrapped in each other, the only thing protecting them from the cool air a thin duvet, Dani placed in Santana’s lap as the woman’s arms were wrapped safely around her waist. It almost seemed vulnerable, and the fact that they hardly moved inches away from each other made Dani lose her mind. “I..” She breathed, her hips moving slowly as her lips were busy occupying themselves with Santana’s, “You’re so perfect,”
