Happy Birthday Zico-oppa~
It was late when Zico returned home from the club. Although Yoongi had said that he’d try and make it there that evening, he’d texted Zico later and explained that something had come up and he just wasn’t going to be able to show up.
It seemed like Yoongi wasn’t even home yet. He wasn’t anywhere to be found but on the small island in the kitchen sat a handmade cake. By the mountain of dishes still in the sink, it was clear that the reason Yoongi hadn’t been able to make it that evening was because he’d been working hard on a birthday cake for his boyfriend.
It was only a moment later before the bedroom door creaked open a bit and Yoongi poked his head out. Immediately his cheeks flushed upon seeing Zico. “Happy birthday…” he said softly, a cute scowl appearing on his lips before Zico could even say anything. He took a deep breath and stepped out from behind the door.
"Don’t you dare laugh,” he warned, his blush growing deeper as he took a couple steps closer in the cute maid outfit. “If you say one word about that cake not being edible because I made it…” Yoongi continued, stopping himself and clearing his throat softly. He’d told himself that because it was Zico’s birthday he’d try to be a bit sweeter.
"Should I cut you a piece of cake….oppa?" Yoongi asked, although his eyes still watched Zico cautiously as though he was expecting him to burst out laughing at him any second now.
Zico received Suga’s text right as he was about to go onstage. While that would probably disappoint anyone to see that their significant other wouldn’t be coming to a show when it was their birthday, Zico didn’t believe for one second that Suga wouldn’t be in the crowd. They had a dysfunctional relationship; one filled with constant arguments and makeup sex. He really believed this was a ploy to disappoint him but in the end, Suga would be right where he usually stood in the crowd.
The club was absolutely packed but as Zico performed he eventually realized that Suga was nowhere to be seen. Even once he was backstage, Suga was not there. Zico checked his phone again as he plopped into a chair in his dressing room. He grabbed a towel to wipe the sweat from his face, then starred at his phone in disbelief. No further messages. Zico was pissed, sincerely. He knew they both had a habit of giving the other shit, but this was too much considering if was the first birthday they’d celebrated together!
Zico grumbled and skipped out on the festivities the club had planned for him. He was in no mood for a party at this point. It was surprising that he wasn’t in the mood since he had quite the reputation as a partier, but he wasn’t missed for long. Once he got home, Zico was further annoyed since the apartment looked dark. “I swear to GOD if this kid’s not even home,” Zico growled under his breath as he unlocked the door and dropped his bag just inside.
"Min Yoongi…" Zico called out crossly, the name dying on his lips when his eyes found the cake on the counter. His eyebrows rose as he walked forward. He didn’t know Suga could bake. He stared at the cake in awe. He never could’ve made something like this. From the way it was decorated, it really seemed like he’d spent a long time making it. He wouldn’t have believed Suga had gone to so much trouble for him if just about every dish and pan and bowl they owned wasn’t piled into the sink.
When he noticed the bedroom door opening, Zico glanced up, only able to stare in complete shock as his awkward but overwhelmingly cute boyfriend ventured out in a maid costume. Immediately Zico forgot all about how angry he’d been a few moments before. He couldn’t believe his eyes! Suga threatened him not to laugh, but he was so stunned, he couldn’t even speak!
When Suga offered to cute him a piece of cake and even called him ‘oppa,’ Zico seemed to come back to life. He had been dumbstruck, totally thinking Suga had ditched him on his birthday to being overwhelmed from his cute boyfriend’s effort. Yes, he wanted some cake but there was definitely something else he wanted first. A predatory grin spread across his face as he slipped out of his coat and let it drop to the floor.
Suga would be very familiar with such a look. When he nervously took a step back, Zico took a step closer. Anyone who didn’t know the couple would probably think Zico was attempting rape but eventually Suga lost the struggle and ended up cornered in the bedroom. Zico had been really tired after his performance but seeing his boyfriend looking so awkwardly cute in the maid outfit invigorated him.
When the sun was rising, Zico wandered out of the bedroom and retrieved the cake in its entirety and one fork. He grinned mischievously as Suga scolded him, although his voice was weak and he looked exhausted as he laid in bed. Zico sat down and waited until Suga pulled the covers back over his lap before putting the cake down on it. “It’s really an awesome cake, babe. If I wasn’t so starved, I wouldn’t even want to cut into it,” Zico praised softly, his tone genuine.
He took the first bite, eyebrows rising on his forehead and eyes widening. “Oh! It’s good!” Zico exclaimed, offering Suga the next bite. Zico was notoriously easy to please when it came to food so there was still some valid doubt as to whether Suga’s baking had been a success or not.
