Satoru first sees him in line at the fast food kiosk at the airport terminal— Well, that’s a lie. Satoru first sees him on television, towards the end of his first summer in Tokyo. He’d been sitting at the back of the room, peering over dozens of heads at the television that Miyuki-senpai’s head had mostly been blocking. He doesn’t remember the details of the game, but he remembers catching a glimpse at the unruly hair and equally unruly expression, tucked under the Komadai cap.
