"Find us a table," Loki commands as you enter the shop.

You resists a dry retort. The alternative is much preferable. If you can get a moment's peace without those two, you'll take it.

"Yes, sir." You say. Despite your efforts, it does sound rather sarcastic.

You find a seat by the windows. You would love a distraction. You turn and look out at the street. Cars shuttle by at a stop and start pace, pedestrians stomp by or march up to the door and join the queue. The whole world is moving around you as these two men keep you sunk into the mud.

You breathe in the scent of beans. You could use another cup. Or maybe not. Those two already keep you on edge.

There's a clink then all at once, you're surrounded. Laufeyson sits on one side of you and Barnes on the other. The slide over the leather and nearly squish you.

"Woah," you say. "There's chairs--"

"Comfier, here," Barnes puts a cup down in front of you, and another in front of him.

You eye the tall cup of ice with layers of brown, pink, and white. You squint at it. What is it?

"Strawberry and cream. The lady said girls love it."

"Oh, girls do?" You utter. "I take my coffee black."

"Your welcome," Barnes chirps back.

"My treat," Laufeyson intones.

"Well, yeah, he paid but he owes me."

"For what?"

"Putting up with you," Barnes scoffs.

You glower between them. "Yeah, thanks. Um... do you think we should go back to the office and get some work done?"

"Okay, mom," Barnes rolls his eyes. "You're not here to babysit. You're here to support our very important work."

"And what is more important than tea?" Laufeyson adds.

You glance between them. They are doing this on purpose. They're testing but you don't understand why.

"You'll be certain to forward your notes from the meeting," Laufeyson says.

"Yeah, I wasn't listening. Your brother never shuts up," Barnes snorts.

"Yes, you do not need to tell me. I am well aware."

You turn the cup and lift it. You sniff it warily. It smells like pure sugar.

"Do you know if it's real strawberry?" You ask.

"Finicky," Laufeyson comments.

"I'm just asking."

"Yes, you have many questions. You must know every single detail." He derides.

"Well... it's what I do to support you." You snipe. "Look, it's almost ten--"

"Clear our meetings," Barnes says. "We don't feel like it."

You cringe and close your eyes. You press your fingers to either side of your nose and exhale. This is ridiculous.

"Can't you just fire me yourselves?" You drop your hands.

"Fire you?" Laufeyson muses and sips. "Why on earth would we do that?"

"That's clearly what you're doing. You're doing all this so that Odinson gets rid of me." You cross your arms and lean your elbows on the table. "I'm not stupid and I'm not your his pet either. I was told to move, I moved."

"Is that what we're doing?" Barnes hums thoughtfully.

"Clever, I admit. It would be rather amusing to see the oaf get so worked up," Laufeyson snickers.

"He doesn't get angry at anything in a skirt." Barnes adds.

You're getting dizzy from the ricochet of their words. You sit back and keep your arms crossed. Barnes has one elbow planted as he holds his cup aloft, Laufeyson taps his fingers on his cup.

"You've not tried your drink." Laufeyson girds.

You flick your lashes up but resist rolling your eyes. You sit up and reach for the cup. You take a sip. The cold foam sticks to the bow of your lip. You put it down and pull your sleeve down your hand. Too late as Barnes' thick thumb brushes away the mess. You wince and lean away from him.

"I got it," you wipe your mouth with your sleeve.

"Not all of it," Laufeyson reaches to trace the corner of your mouth.

"Alright, that's enough touching," you bat them both away.

The laugh. Together. It's all a big joke to them.

"Well, since you aren't such a fan of skirts, maybe Thor wouldn't have a problem tossing you out."

"Pity, I think those hips would do well in a pencil skirt," Laufeyson purrs.

You slide forward on the bench. "Okay, that's... stop." You try to stand but can't as the table presses into your stomach. "If you're trying to get me to quit, well, I'm pretty damn close."

"Ah, where's the fun in that?" Laufeyson tuts.

"I could think of something real fun," Barnes drags his thick hand from your hip, down your ass, and along the back of your thigh. You sit down, horrified and shove him away.

"Dude-- sir. Don't--" You lean on one side of your ass as you feel something under you. It's Laufeyson's open hand. You wriggle between them and push on their shoulders. "Hey, no touching."

"Sh, sh, sh. You are far too stressed. You need to relax," Laufeyson coaxes as his fingers curl under you. You twitch again as his fingertips touch your cunt.

"Yo!" You try to rip his hand out from under you. Barnes runs his hand up your back. "This isn't-- what is wrong with you two?"

They laugh at the same time. Laufeyson drags his hand from under you and snakes his arm over your shoulders. Barnes hooks his around your waist. They crowd you from both sides.

"Well, doll," Barnes leans in. "We do need your support."

"Mm, very badly indeed," Laufeyson drawls.

Their hands settle on your thighs. You grab their hands and squeeze their fingers. They are both so much stronger than you. You squirm as you snarl through your teeth.

"Get off of me," you warn.

"Well, by all means," Laufeyson's fingers inch closer to your crotch. "If you'd rather be on top--"

"Disgusting." You push your elbows into their sides. "I fucking quit. You win."

"Oh, well, that does make it easier." Laufeyson slithers.

"Yeah, no meetings with HR." Barnes winks.

I can’t help but feel as though the case of Luigi mangione has triggered a paradigm shift that has only just begun, yet has been so long coming. So used to, have we as Americans become of the working class being victimized and abused, that we have dismissed it because we’ve been led by capitalism to believe that they deserved it for not working hard enough, for not being patriotic enough, or not being high class enough to justify valuing them. But Luigi is different, he IS the rich, white collar, educated buisness man that corporate capitalism has deemed the ultimate goal of Americans, he is the poster boy of American idealism, and yet, even he fell victim to the system, and when he fought back agaisnt it, he was treated just as poorly as the common man. They are going to kill him. And if he’s not safe, nobody is. I’m calling this now, they’ll find a way to work around the death penalty restrictions in New York, and they will execute him to send a message to keep us in check so they can continue their reign of cruel and inhuman punishment and destruction. But they won’t realize the martyr they will have given us. The government keeps ensuring that the working class has nothing left to live for or to protect, not realizing that by doing so, they’re simultaneously giving them nothing left to loose by fighting back. And that my friends, is how revolutions begin.
