Taking place over November this is not to be mistaken for a summery, sun soaked festival. Take it from someone that endured the 3 degree nights unprepared and shivering away. However, in saying that the weather is extremely unpredictable and one morning the sun’s rays did turn quite a few of us red; so don’t let the weather phase you. If you are wise and come equipped the fresh mornings and chilly afternoons create an atmosphere so vivid with breathtaking scenery and morning walks amongst bare stricken trees and mountainous landscape... plus if that isn’t drawing you in the music sure will, numerous emerging talent lined up to kick butt up on stage keeping in mind it’s freezing yet they still manage to smash the guitar and hit those drums like it’s their last show they’ll ever play.
Like at most festivals the crowd swarms together but the smaller scale of this one combines a strong community finding pleasure amongst nature, music and each other. With music for all ear buds blazing away across three stages (which one hundred percent sums up the paradise experience); a stage at the bottom of a grassy hill perfect for an arvo rest whilst getting lost in some serious tunes turning into a mini rave by sunset, the indoor club which opens once the sun rests and closes when it rises (a perfect space to get loose) and the basement stage a new edition this year which is also open overnight featuring some of the best local DJs from Sydney and Melbourne.
Tips: Buy the Merch! I’d wear the Paradise long sleeve everyday if I didn’t share it with my boyfriend… Take the time to go for a bush walk and connect with others, you’ll notice heaps of artists roaming around and hanging out with them will definitely be a highlight.
