The paradise ducks on campus are a force of pure chaos. There are four of them regularly here (three males, one females), and I can now easily distinguish all of them. The one on the roof is our feisty girl. The three other photos show The Bills, Otago’s gay avian icons who split their time between terrorizing students and napping in inconvenient places around campus. The male duck pictured with the large white patches on his wings is particularly aggressive, and has attacked me outside the microbiology department on several occasions.
