12. How about when going home for holidays, what will you bring home? - Mostly books and stuff for reading so as not to be behind come my return to school. If I had a cat, I bring the cat home. I figure it’d be like going home on vacation from regular school.

23. Will you subscribe to the daily prophet or the quibbler or other wizarding world media? - Ehhhh probably not. Unless the WW has caught up with the rest of the world and gotten internet, and even then I'd probably just get my news from everyone else talking about it than go after it myself unless something strikes close to home.

Yay!  Thank you!  (Also, are/were you a debater?  I don’t remember if I’ve asked you).

1. Why did you join?

I was on a huge “join ALL the clubs” kick freshman year.

26. Do you have special methods for profiling judges?

I’m not very good at reading people, so, um, ask them what their paradigms are?  I guess?

42. What was the most fun round that you had?

During my first ever break round at JV state, I hit one of the best people on the local circuit.  This girl had beaten me at least three times at previous points in the season.  Before the round, I wrote a shit ton of blocks, and, because her team is well-known for writing prep-outs of other teams’ cases, I basically rewrote my entire negative case.  (She was confused by this and ended up reading an author indict for the author of some evidence I didn’t end up reading).  I destroyed.  Technically, I only won on a 2-1 decision, but the feedback from the judge who voted me down made it really obvious that she had voted on the other girl based on her reputation and was starting to regret her decision.

(The other girl in question is a lovely human being, btw, one time I was throwing up before the tournament and she just walked up to me and held my hair back, no questions asked).

What’s the bedroom tax? Because I’m nearly certain it isn’t on what my mind first went to.

And I think I have an idea of what your mind first went to...

AKA 'The Under-Occupancy Penalty'. Basically, people living in council housing face having their housing benefits cut or even being evicted if they have rooms deemed to be 'spare'- in other words, the house is 'too big for their needs'.

Apparently the intention was to encourage people to move into smaller housing to free up larger houses. Trouble is, there turned out to be a lack of available council houses. And there are figures that show most people wouldn't be able to move because of a lack of housing. And it disproportionately affects disabled people, many of whom have their houses adapted to meet their needs.
