“Hey! Have you seen a little mer-boy swim past here? Curly hair. Cheeky smile?
"Welcome to the Sacred Willow. What can I get for you? Hexes? Curses? You want to blow your ex-boyfriend up? I’m your girl.”
“This is good. You wanna try some?”
“Do you even know what a drink is supposed to taste like? That’s juice, not a cocktail,” Xander sighed, waving the new bartender away as he finished stocking up the liquor. When the front door opened, he looked up with raised eyebrows. “We’re closed, come back around six.”
“Oh, Jesus---...” Haylee puffed out of her cheeks, as she heard her ringtone. Ruffling through her bag, she creased her brows in frustration when she couldn’t find the phone, yet she could still hear it. “Are you kidding me?”
“Please don’t tell me I have to do this all over again!”
It had been at least three months since she’d spoken to Kyle, and each day she missed him more than the last. But for some reason, she doubted he missed her. He was an incubus after all, if he wanted someone else, he could have that. He hadn’t reached out, so neither had she. As she worked through her files and stepped into the house she was showing for the day, she tried to paint a smile on her face as she waited for the next client to show up.
“Whatever that is--..” With those words being said, she paused; shaking her head lightly, before raising her hands in surrender, “I don’t want to be a part of it.”
