One is a railroad game, and in the certain situation I'm in, I have to build a railroad in the West, and I have 2 or 3 competitors. And I can win certain awards if I connect those cities AND more, like money and connecting more cities. I had to pick an eastern city and a West Coast city to connect, so I picked St. Louis to Los Angeles. I started my main hub and HQ at Kansas City, built east to St. Louis so I could get trains going right away, and built my biggest mainline through Wichita and Amarillo and Albuquerque kind of like Route 66 and then to Los Angeles. So since then, I've been expanding. I tried to really take cities like Oklahoma City, Little Rock, and Amarillo for yards and hubs, since from those places I can get a bunch of places in Texas and Louisiana. Is this a smart strategy? Should I maybe build another big route perhaps straight through the mountains to the San Francisco area? I do have tracks to it in California, it just takes a lot longer for my trains to get there versus one of my big rivals since he built from Chicago to Oakland like what UP and SP did. My scenario lasts for 25 years, 1865-1890. /////////////////////////////////////////// Question: What kind of hours do railroad yardmasters work? Is it a set schedule or does it vary from day to day?
