Hope you all have a happy and safe weekend whether you're going out to Bonfires and seeing fireworks to cuddling up at home on the sofa! 🎇
Me being me, going to share some little facts about the reason people celebrate Bonfire Night 🎆
Guy Fawkes Day, also called Bonfire Night, British observance, celebrated on November 5, commemorating the failure of the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. It's s because of a result of the failed plot, James I celebrated his survival by making the people of England have a bonfire on the night on 5 November. Throughout the years, countries belonging to the British Empire also celebrated his failure to blow up Parliament, but it is still a long-standing tradition to honour this day.🎇
The Gunpowder Plot of 1605, in earlier centuries often called the Gunpowder Treason Plot or the Jesuit Treason, was a failed assassination attempt against King James I by a group of provincial English Catholics led by Robert Catesby who sought to restore the Catholic monarchy from the Church of England after decades of intolerance against Catholics.
Remember, remember the fifth of November, Gunpowder treason and plot. Should ever be forgot! To blow up king and parliament.
