Can we maybe see a pic of Jack cuddling a Pregnant Nana? Maybe he's singing a lullaby to his loving wife & 6 precious unborn beanie babies (if you're up for it of course! Hope your week gets better btw!)
I got enough art juice to squeeze out a sketch because the fluff potential is too strong
Parent AU question: Did Nana go through any mood swings or have any unique cravings?
I imagine she eats waaay more raw meat when she's pregnant due to her cravings for it. There's times she has her face covered in blood because she dug into a fresh kill since she had a taste and couldn't help herself.
It's def a trip if she gets one of these cravings at night so Jack wakes up to see his wife standing over the bed with her face dripping red and the smell of blood filling the room all because she wanted a late night snack.
As for mood swings, she might have a low tolerance to loud sounds. Even lower than she usually does. Which means she'll get snappy if someone is being a wee bit too loud. She may also growl and snarl more often.
But she very much enjoys cuddling with her farm boy. She gets a craving for being close and drowning in his scent and, while her unpregnant self is patient, pregnant Nana will hunt the boy down to bury herself in him.
Parent AU Question: What were Jack & Nana's reactions to finding out that Nana was expecting their little red bean babies? I bet Jack cried tears of joy (& hopefully didn't flood the place lol). Were they nervous at all?
In the AU, Jack and Nana weren't actually expecting to have kids, let alone 6 of them. Nana basically realized she had been feeling off her game for a bit after one night with Jack. The second the morning sickness hit-Jack scooped her up and made a panicked beeline to Miss Castor.
They both were very surprised to find out Nana was pregnant and it took them a second to process.
Neither had plans for kids (in canon they never have any children which is why this AU exists) but Jack has always been good with them and is neutral on having them, relying more on Nana's desire for them.
Nana was definitely the more nervous one because she has life growing inside of her now and that's just an otherworldly feeling, but Jack helped with how optimistic his reaction was. He didn't want to celebrate or hype things up too much as it was Nana's choice if she wanted to have a kid or not. Nana grew up never planning on having kids due to how dangerous she viewed the world to be. But after meeting Jack and falling for him, she came to the conclusion that so long as it was with him, she was fine having them.
Once Nana made it known she wanted to go through with having their kid, the farm boy became overjoyed let out plenty of tears as he scooped her up in a big ole hug over knowing they were gonna have a little them running around. They started preparing for their little one and making things as baby proof as they could. Jack also made sure to ease any worry Nana had and made sure she was comfortable every step of the way, smothering her in even more affection than before (if that's possible) and even learning how to cook and hunt himself so Nana wouldn't have to lift a finger. That farm boy was gonna make sure his wife was pampered.
Jack's mom as well as Nana's mom were great at walking Nana through everything and what to expect. Jack's mom was overjoyed. When it came to Nana's mom, Jack was very nervous when it came to them both breaking the news to her. But he was very relieved when she was happy to see she was going to become a grandma. Miss Palette, the mother of the goat kids, was also big help in advice for them, telling them that one kid is certainly easier than handling a full set of seven and that they'll be fine.
Of course...this before Miss Castor noticed Nana was developing a bit faster than expected after a check-up a couple months in. She had pointed out that Nana's stomach was a wee bit larger than it should be compared to what month they were at.
So when she checked again, she was speechless, which made Jack and Nana nervous as all hell because Miss Castor always has something to say.
And then she dropped the news on them and the couple's jaws dropped.
Due to Nana's Lupine genes, they weren't having just one kid. Or even just two.
They were having a full six.
Miss Castor had to use some magic to catch them both after the two fainted simultaneously.
Miss Palette became an even bigger help because she had more than enough experience with having a big family and the two remain forever grateful for her as well as the rest of Briar Patch. Everyone had been pitching in and aiding in things when they initially heard about the baby. So when they found out there were gonna be six of them-everyone upped the ante.
The entire experience of preparing for the little red beanie babies was a very positive one and Jack and Nana have no idea what they would have done without everyone.
Parent AU Jack and Najla sleeping in bed and one of their kids comes in and is like "I had a nightmare" and they are like "It's ok sweetie, you can come sleep with us" and they come scurrying over and climb into bed and nestle between them.
A second one comes and repeats the same thing and the whole dialogue repeats before a third comes and Najla is just "...*sigh* Baby could you" and Jack hums and gets out of bed and leaves the room and comes back with the other 3 clinging to him like koalas.
He dumps them all into bed and all 6 of their babies get comfy before he climbs back in and sandwiches them between him and the wolf wife and everyone goes straight back to sleep.
I haven't drawn Aurea and Exel in a bit so here's the babies. To the new folks-these two are the "WHAT IF" babies Jack and Najla have in an AU where they are parents.
