Ever since Arthur’s freckles have been canonized, I like to imagine John often staring at them every time Arthur stands in front of a mirror. He falls silent as he tries to count the freckles before Arthur looks away. HOWEVER, I also like to imagine that Arthur somehow notices it and will take his time fixing up his hair or the collar of his shirt UGHHHHH

I’ve been thinking about this for sometime and debated to write about it here for a while as well, but today I’m going to go against my anxieties and post this.

There are so many things that John represents and that so many people have different ways to relate to John. To me, John represents what it’s like to learn to live after years of being in survival mode for so long. He’s a reminder that learning how to live isn’t going to be easy and I find comfort in that- Progress is never linear and we see John hit a lot of bumps in the road as he tries to redeem himself.

Every time John gets into that deep reflection about himself, I’m always quoting Grunkle Stan; “It’s just like my life!…In a way”

At the point of my life where I go to stores and be like…

“Oh! That’s a lovely cardigan. I think I can crochet one just like that for myself and it’ll be the perfect size!”

“That looks like an interesting book! I’m sure that my local library has this. Let me just take a picture of the book real quick-“

“I need rosemary oil for my hair. I think I’m going to grow some rosemary and make some oil out of it. Maybe I should plant more herbs too.”
