LADY OF CROWS
They say the younger of the Lord's daughters has eyes like the sky after a storm, when the gray of a chaotic, impetuous element gives way to sunny, light fields of gentle blue. Her anger is impulsive, and her emotions are unbridled and sudden, yet through it all, she is very straightforward and sincere. Political manipulation is far from her, courtly charades utterly alien, and the gods, shaping her personality, did the same with her anger—as soon as lightning strikes the ground, the heaviness of the storm melts, and the angry rain fades into a delicate memory of drizzle. Lady Blackhaven's eyes are awash in blue, deep as the sky stretched above the earth, and attentive in their assessment. Compared to her elder sister, she lacks much courtliness, though she moves gracefully and possesses a refined manner of speaking. Her bows are subtle, graceful, and learned—a contrast to the way she smiles. Her smile is always genuine and full of a kind, comforting fire, and along with the corners of her mouth, sparks of joy inevitably flicker in her eyes. Morgana seals oaths, issues orders to her men, and ends meetings with a smile. She is sincere. High-born lords from beyond the borderlands sometimes despise her for this, but the townspeople love her. She is willing to sacrifice much for her people, and the way she governs Blackhaven allows for a prosperous life, though less lavishly than that of the greater families. Grain supplies are stored in the larders for hard times, and salted meat, wine, sweet mead, and ale are stored in the castle cellars. Tournaments are held here infrequently, but the borderlands never refuse hospitality. The Dondarrions are a practical people; their culture is described as military, and it is in this spirit that the fortress of black basalt was built, where the most important feature is ensuring defense and protection.
STAG SWORN
It's said in the Marches that, renewing their oath of allegiance to the Durrandon blood, Lady Blackhaven locked smiles with Lord Storm, and they knelt before each other. This is only half true; Laughing Storm was her devoted childhood friend, they had exchanged more than one oath, and it's a real challenge to maintain a straight face in front of someone you've bathed with in a warm summer lake. Lyonel and Morgana share similar personalities and a fiery gaze in their eyes. As kindred spirits, they are initially inseparable, and their closeness makes Lord Baratheon look more favorably upon House Dondarrion than upon the older and more powerful House Swann, who ruled Red Watch. While Morgana's swordsman and uncle trained the girl to fight defensively and honorably with short swords, Lyonel taught her to fight effectively, aggressively, and to command dominance in the field. He taught her to fight like a deer—suiting both his and her temperaments. It was likely Laughing Storm who gave Morgana a live male lynx as a companion, a paradox of a species that is a predator that directly threatens deer. Perhaps Lyonel thereby acknowledged his own weakness and, at the same time, fully accepted it?
They were everything to each other; only the black dragon drove them apart. Unconsciously.
