Part 2 - The Sects and Clans: The Qishan Wen Sect

The Qishan Wen Sect (岐山温氏, Qíshān Wēn Shì) - a cultivational sect based in Nightless City.

Motif - Sun

Motto - (unknown)

Uniform Color - Red

Side Note: In The Untamed, you can always deduce a certain amount of information about a Sect from their general location. For example, the Nightless City is so large that it is said the sun never sets on all parts of it. The Palace of the Sun and Flames is the tallest building in the Nightless City. This location and size suggests that they are the largest sect, and that the sun, the source of Heavenly light, holds a preference for Qishan Wen over other Sects. As a result, they place themselves as the ruling Sect, that can "compete with the sun for radiance, match the sun in longevity."

Sect Members

Wen Ruohan (温若寒, Wēn Ruòhán) - the sect leader of the Qishan Wen Sect. Father to Wen Xu and Wen Chao.

Wen Xu (温旭, Wēn Xù) - the eldest son of Wen Ruohan. Only appears in the live action version.

Wen Chao (温晁, Wēn Cháo) - the youngest son of Wen Ruohan.

Wen Qing (温情, Wēn Qíng) - Wen Ning's older sister and the leader of a small subdivision of the Qishan Wen Sect.

Wen Ning (温宁, Wēn Níng), courtesy name Qionglin (温琼林, Qiónglín), title Ghost General (鬼将军, Guǐ Jiāngjūn) - younger brother to Wen Qing.

Sect Members - Peripheral Characters

Wen Zhuliu (温逐流, Wēn Zhúliú, formerly, 赵逐流, Zhào Zhúliú), title the Core-Melting Hand (化丹手, Huàdān Shǒu) - a cultivator in the Qishan Wen Sect who acted as Wen Chao's personal bodyguard. 

Wang Lingjiao (王灵娇, Wáng Língjiāo) - the mistress of Wen Chao.

Wen Yuan (温苑) - a nephew of Wen Qing and Wen Ning.

Granny Wen - the grandmother of Wen Qing, Wen Ning, and Wen Yuan.

Uncle Four - uncle to Wen Yuan.

Xue Yang (薛洋, Xuē Yáng), courtesy name Xue Chengmei (薛成美, Xuē Chéngměi) 

Side Note: In the live action, Xue Yang works closely with Wen Ruohan in obtaining shards of the Yin Iron. In the novel + donghua, Xue Yang is only known as the guest disciple of the Lanling Jin Sect because the Yin Iron does not exist.

Uncovering Fables

Chapter 1 Part 2.4

While we were waiting for everything to be checked and set up, I found myself trying to rest. I sat at the platform where we were expected to jump off and dive very soon. I wore water shoes with my wet suit but as my feet dipped into the salty water, the chilled cold of the sea tingled throughout my body. I smiled slightly for there was some coldness despite this hot day. 

This happiness didn’t last long as I glanced at the sun and the adventure that Maria planned for us lingered in the back of my head. I knew it was dangerous but I couldn’t bring myself to stand up to Maria and tell her no. She would be disappointed if I did so… I had to say yes. No matter what. 

“What’s up, loser?” Maria suddenly sat down next to me, her voiced raised. I was so deep in thought that I wasn’t expecting my friend to suddenly appear next to me. I jumped a little and this time, I would have fallen into the sea if Maria didn’t catch me. “Whoa. Hey, you okay there? You’re not allowed to hop into the water without me. What if you take away all the fun?”

I forced a smile as I looked at Maria. “What if I want to take all the fun?”

Maria frowned and hugged me as she pouted. “What? Nooo. You need to leave some fun for me.” 

“You could probably find a little underneath a rock.”

“So, I’m getting the leftovers?”

“…Yeaaaah?”

“Rude.”

“I’m not rude. You’re rude.”

“Wha? How?”

I blinked. “I’m not sure yet. Get me a minute to think of something.” 

Maria chuckles softly as she dips her fingers into the sea to test the water. She smiles softly when she realizes that the water was perfect to go diving in. She turned back to me, probably to rant about her excitement, when she paused. She frowned when she saw my face. “Hey, are you alright?”

I was staring down at the sea, my fists clenching onto the platform we sat on. I didn’t want to do this and it was clear on my face.

Maria nudged my shoulder. “Hey, are you okay?”

I quickly nodded a response. “W-What? Of course, I am. Why would I-“

“Penny…” Maria cut me off. “Um, I know that I might have put you off guard earlier. If you don’t want to do the-“ Maria looked around and whispered softly, “cave thing, then we don’t have to do it. The reefs sound nice anyway. We can do that too. I won’t complain.”

I stared at Maria, thinking. Was this a test? This must have been a test. Maria really wanted to explore those caves so I was going to give that opportunity to her. “Nah, dude. I want to go. This is going to be a ton of fun.”

Maria didn’t buy this at first. “You sure?”

“I’m sure.”

“You sure, you’re sure?”

“Yes, Maria!... I’m sure. You don’t have to keep asking.”

Maria smiled at this and attack hugged me, squealing a bit. “Aw, thank you! You’re the best. This is going to be so much fun.” I savored the few seconds of her hugging me before she quickly let go of the hug and gave a sly smile. “Now I’m going to go mess with that instructor.” And off she went, leaving me back at the place I was sitting.

I sighed softly and rubbed my hands together, trying to rub the nervousness off. Of course, this didn’t work and I chuckled softly at my stupidity since I expected something different. Welp, it was time to get ready. There was no turning back now.
