Abel, I love you dearly, but you are forbidden from working on plans for anything for the next 24 hours <3
"It's time to become dumbass! Let me out so I can clean!!"
Tristan, banging their fists inside my skull
I was food shopping with husband and still pretty firmly in work blob state, rattling off technical specifications and stuff about medical legality and liability...
...then suddenly I cut myself off midsentence with a great big gasp into a tiny awed "Can I get cherries?"
I am a grown ass person, currently the sole income of the house. Husband blinked at me and took a moment to process, then said "Did you just ask permission to buy cherries? With your money?"
Yes. Or rather, the child in my brain did.
We spent the entire shopping trip with a finger hooked in his belt loop "for safety."
Gently holding a socially anxious part's face in my hands, firmly insisting: "We do not have to do anything you don't want to do. We are in control of who, where, and when we interact. Please believe in me; I'll take care of us. Just tell me how you feel, and I'll take care of whatever we need to do."
A funny thing happened at work earlier, where Tristan was referring to one of our patients to a coworker and said "Oh hold on, my girl just got back" and then short circuited for a second because saying "my girl" made them so heart-flutteringly happy that they had to take a moment.
So yeah, if anyone ever questions our attraction to women because we're married to a man...they shouldn't. A significant part of us (ha) would be overjoyed to be in a relationship with a woman. =_=;
Astrid's playlist is frontloaded with a bunch of "tough uncaring bitch" attitude and sexual songs. Without fail, I dissociate about 8 songs in.
The playlist transitions to songs about anger, regret, and love. I never make it to that bit though. It's clearly on purpose.
"Don't worry--I got us combat boots for a reason," Diego tells us with a dimpled smile.
And what reason would that be?
Her smile twinkles. "Combat!"
