Shoe Design is in the Stars for Bon Iver
Justin Vernon, of Bon Iver, can now add shoe designer to his resume. We couldn’t be more thrilled.
His love for the outdoors is prominent in his music, and it’s also evident in his limited-edition shoes created with L.A. based shoe company, Keep. The Ramos-style shoe comes in a pale salmon hue with herringbone accents. Across the toes is a black fishbone detail and according to Keep's website, the sneakers are kitten-friendly.
We think the cool sneakers will fit in just fine while wandering festival grounds. Or, if you aren’t attending the great music festivals coming up, you could at least take some pretty inspiring Instagram pics of your new laces. The best part is, you don't have to feel guilty about dropping 75 bucks on the star-studded sneaks, because a portion of the proceeds benefit the Best Friends Animal Society, an advocacy group which operates the nation's largest sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals. Score!
The Big Pink and IO Echo Event at Harvard and Stone
Particle Arts Entertainment threw a super secret friends and family festival party last night at Harvard and Stone hosted by british rock group The Big Pink, and La locals IO Echo. VIP guests included Mickey Madden from Maroon 5, Zelda Williams, Keegan Allen, Sara Paxton, and Nick Simmons. Select VIPs were seen leaving the party with envelopes from event partner Virgin America -- with free flight tickets on the hip airline known for its in-flight entertainment and extensive music library. Sounds like it was a fun party.

Warm-up P.S.1
The master-mind and curator behind P.S. 1's Summer event Warm-Up, musician Zach Layton, brings together the underground music sounds of New York City with stunning visual architectural pieces from P.S. 1's contemporary art center. Every Saturday starting July 4 and ending September 5 the Warm-Up summer series merged the sounds of djs from all over the country with contemporary installations. The courtyard was transformed as it became jam packed with musicians, composers, music lovers, artists and families. Every year Warm-Up brings people from all over together as a way to enjoy the summer fresh air, set to music, while exploring the amazing architectural pieces and exhibitions from the 2009 winners of young architects program.
