Frost stretched out her legs on the sand, digging her toes into the tiny grains. The sun had just set on New York, sinking away and being replaced by a cool evening. Reflected in the black water, the moon remained a beacon in the sky for all lost souls. And the beach was full of lost souls for the evening. Nearby, the raucous sounds of party filled the air, paired with the acrid smoke of a bonfire. True to her job, she had arrived, socialized, and sold elixirs.
She had smiled when she needed to, flirted when she needed and smiled warmly as she watched hedonist after hedonist raise the little glass vials to their mouths. As of now - feeling satiated and spent with her sales - she sat a few yards away from the group, a lit cigarette between her lips.
Frost watched the debauchery down the way, wondering if this was how Dionysus felt with his maenads - to see the frenzy and beauty of losing themselves to a ravenous moment. She had caused that.
But, what every party needed was a siren and whether it was the witchy, heady night or the knowledge of a party that summoned her, Frost could see the approaching figure in the misty distance.
