(Background: Giovanni is a Capitano (Captain -Senior Officer) in the Carabinieri. In this scene he is being called out to a murder scene.)

Also for interest, the Carabinieri is Italy's gendarmerie, (they are a military force, under the Ministry of Defence as the 4th branch of the Italian Armed Forces). Although they mainly serve within Italy, they can also be sent overseas. There is a lot of overlap in the domestic duties and jurisdiction of the Carabinieri and State Police (they are civilian), however the Carabinieri also police the miliary.
