Party poison x dr benzedrine
Ties into this.
Back when Poison was little (like four or five), the gang they were with stopped at an abandoned house on the side of a scarcely used highway. They can barely remember it now, but, back at that house, there had been an old TV that one of the older gang members (long dead now) had gotta working. They had left Poison alone to stare at the static, when something that was considered strange even in the desert happened. In a situation similar to Poltergeist, Poison saw a boy, around their age, on the other side of the screen. They kinda talked though the static, Poison sitting two inches from the TV, but, before they could get a name from him, the other gang member found them, screamed, grabbed Poison, and ran for it.
Years later, Poison was going back to the diner after a supply run. They found the old house along the way. It felt so familiar, like a dream that they couldn't quite remember. They went inside, found the TV, and felt the strange desire to try turning it on. The pixels formed a video of a man, holding a vial of purple liquid and working in a shop that made him look like a witchdoctor. A sign hung in the background: "Dr. Benzedrine". Poison stared at him. He felt so distant, yet so real.
The man turned around and looked at Poison. His eyes widened in surprise, "This thing stopped working ages ago..." He started walking toward them, but he tripped over a stray cord and spilled the vial on whatever he could see Poison through.
The power surged throughout the abandoned house. Poison felt a shock course through their body, before they collapsed and their vision went black. When they finally opened their eyes again, though, they weren't in the old house anymore. Instead, they stared up at a starlit sky, in a large, but run down city, covered in the electric green slime of an alleyway.
