I thought the movie was entertaining, I say that bc it wasn’t the best movie ever but it was fine and way better than what I thought it was gonna be (a trash fire), so when I was thoroughly enjoying the movie I was way more entertained than borhap mostly bc the dirt felt truer to what Motley is than what borhap was for queen if that makes any sense like it had the spirit of the band in it

I can agree with all of this! I feel like Bohemian Rhapsody wasn’t sure if it wanted to be more of a documentary or more entertainment, while The Dirt knew it was just going to be for entertainment. I think BR had better actors and cinematography, but The Dirt just had a bigger “wow” factor, you know? Like, “wow, these people are terrible but I can’t look away” lmao. I totally get what you’re trying to say!

It’s an end-to-end masterwork and a pin in the map of my life marking the moment it began to change course. It had been a long time since an album and a band had excited me like that. WL was both ambitious and real, the most they’d been in years. They wanted to challenge themselves, not to reinvent the wheel but to strip away the modern comforts and security blankets and expose themselves on tape for who they were and what they stood for. It was hardly original in terms of going back to analog, but it was sincere, and precious little is nowadays.
