It’s a good breather episode after the last one.
I was disappointed that they didn’t have the dragon come back for the final battle. Just a single pass would have been nice.
Our 60th episode!
We just released our 60th full episode of Corona After Dark: A Tangled Podcast! Did Nezerdnia MEAN to send Corona a dragon egg? Tristan had a great theory about this, and I think y'all should hear it!
I rewatched Pascal's Dragon, this was an episode I did not like too much at first (as much as I like Pascal, I'm not a fan of the animal side kick episodes too much) but rewatching it I noticed how great Rapunzel is here in this episode. I loved how seeing her make decisions and take on a commanding role. Her authority is show cased really well here, and it was a joy to see how decisive and confident she is handling the conflict of the episode. I feel bad for disliking this one at first.
My favorite part of the episode is when she gets to experience real flight. 🥰
I remember when the episode was new, it really hit me hard, because this was the last push before the series ended, and Pascal having to say goodbye to the dragon (whose name I hate, so I don't feel like typing it right now) made me feel like it was the fans saying goodbye to the show.

With hindsight, despite its flaws and the loathsome (in my opinion) design of the dragons... RTA/TTS could have really benefited from MORE episodes like “Pascal’s Dragon”. The format it had was so unlike most of what had come before or after.
It expanded the world beyond the main characters, explicitly explained what things were even if the explanations weren’t the best, expanded on side characters. All in all it made the world of the show seem like a place that was much more alive and with more stories happening in it than just what was happening to Rapunzel and her friends. Gave stories to background characters who had been little more than set dressing up to that point.
So even if I don’t particularly like the episode, I liked what it tried to DO and even sort of accomplished, at the end of the day. And I wish we’d gotten more like it.
This scene is starting to climb up there with the end of King and Queen of Hearts as one of my most hated scenes in the show. Seriously, Little Big Guy had no reason to leave aside from the status quo trope.
