I respect that perspective, but I don’t agree. I don’t think anything truly exists unto itself. I don’t think it’s about the maximum amount of people hearing it, but I do really struggle with the idea that something can have value without impacting anyone at all. what’s the point?
It’s not about “luck,” but about purpose
Ok... well, the literal definition of fine art is art that is human expression, not decorative or applied to any other purpose. That's what art is, it's not my opinion, it's the definition and descriptor. You're free to disagree but why would you want to lol.
But i think i know what you mean, about striving to have an audience. it makes sense! But i think finn is doing that - he's just not striving to have an audience in the way you think he should. but the fact is there ARE other avenues finn could go down and still gain success. he's doing it - he's getting loads of press for his music. he's playing shows, he's advertising himself, and he IS on tiktok even! so basically what you've said, and you admitted previously, is that you want him to have a very specific version of success which is to become a viral star. so already its about you and not him. and it's important to remember that becoming a global star does not guarantee that people will understand, love or appreciate you. mo money, mo problems, etc etc. the more famous finn becomes from his music, the more opportunity for people to NOT see him the way he wants to be seen. as of now, he's reaching who he wants to, doing what he wants to. he has control in a way he never has with his film career. it's important to consider that finn already is a global success, and has it made him feel understood or good about himself? or has it also created a plethora of problems?
i don't understand why you need other people to love him as much as you do. what other people do is not your concern, and finn clearly thrives being a little more incognito. i'm wondering why you don't want for him what he wants for himself.
