Passionate Entrepreneurs - Take Your Passion Test

A month ago I took a Passion Test with my friend and fellow entrepreneur Derek Hendricks.  He took me through a series of questions which led me to finding my passions.  The final exercise was writing my passions in the form of a short story of how my life will look when I’m living my passions.

I knew it was a good exercise for me because I’m into the self discovery methods like this.  I don’t see it as self discovery, but instead the discovery of what God designed me from the womb to be passionate about.

Alfred Lord Tennyson said

“The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions.”

Now I’m reading this short story to myself daily.  And I didn’t fully understand or know why I was reading it daily until I realized that by reading it daily I was reinforcing my passions!

But before you go off taking your passion test too, you have to understand that I was doing it under the context of a Godpreneur: that God gave me these passions and its my duty to live them out.

Its important that we pursue our passions, but passions can be used for good and bad.  So how do we guard our passions and make sure they always align with our Godpreneurial purpose?

Proverbs 4:23 says “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Your passions come from your heart.  So guarding your heart is the secret to keeping your passions aligned.

Living your passion requires a practiced decision we must make in theory, well ahead of the practical test.  We must decide that we are going to “Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.   Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.   Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.   Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.” (Proverbs 4:24-27)

You can destroy something you have built up over a long time in a matter of seconds if you let your passions get the better of you.

Pushing Buttons

I never imagined myself to be one who pushes other people's buttons. I'm a middle child, a peacekeeper. I'm moderate everything. I see the gray, rarely the black or the white. I want happiness for all and frequently wonder why it's so hard for people to see both sides or to simply get along. 

Then recently, I noticed that I give a little push. I hear or see the words of those lost in victimhood. They don't even notice it. They say things like, "This always happens to me," or "Story of my life..." and I say, "Oh, no wonder." And then I find myself pushing. Gently, lovingly, but pushing, nevertheless. Mirroring their words back to them so that they can see what they are creating. Some see it. Some don't. But regardless, I willingly reach out and push. 

Few of us know exactly why we're here on this Earth. That existential question plagues so many of us. I am grateful to know exactly why I am here. I am a button pusher. The button? Its label reads, "Growth."

Day 3

Im sure i will write again today, maybe, I am up and have something to say about yesterday. I was upset for finding my passion. HA! It just didnt happen the way i was thinking it would. You know like take an aptitude test and it tell you you should go into  showbiz. lol.

No it was clear all i want to do is get out of this town. Just like when I created Mr Lovey, i couldnt think of anything else. Lottery, food, nothing but wanting that Mr Lovey. So now I need to get my sites on Mr. Housie! I feel like once I am out of here my creativity will explode and who knows what doors will open.

So I sat last night and decided to start writing out Mr Housie. Draw it, pintrest it, make a model of it! Who knows! Feel myself walking through it! How to pay for it? NOT MY PROBLEM. The universe will figure that out. Which brings me to my next topic. I really think I want our property to also be our work place. ( not giving details to what we do) But I think we need to make it both. I mean if i can ask for something I might as well ask for it all! Work and home!

When I asked for Mr Lovey I did it all. His looks, his attitude, everything I could think of. And what blanks i didnt fill the universe did! It gave me things I forgot I wanted in a guy. I mean filling in blanks from my childhood that made me happy. 

So I can only assume that the universe will do the same thing with the house and biz. I woke up this morning to a little disturbance in the force. But not really. Cousin Dan likes drama a bit more than I do. He like to keep up with people who are in the same thing as I am, he sometimes lets me know of drama on another webpage. Im thankful im not part of it. I really have no desire to be in competition or fighting.  

I want me and hubby to do the work that we do to best of our ability and only make people happy. I want to be a blessing to others. Not a hindrance. I really am blessed to have my husband. He has no hidden agenda to make people suffer for his profit or amusement. In face he is very much honest and true. He is solid. 

I love the calm and cool, I love peace and serenity. Laughter and singing! Dance in the woods and fall into a bed of moss!

Groundhogs Day!

Well I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Like the book suggested. It was weird. I broke out in a night sweat last night. I have flashes all the time but that was the first time it woke me up and me sweating. So i didnt sleep good. I woke up in a ok mood thou i guess. 

Went with my sister to the doctor and sat and read The Passion Test. Well it started to piss me off. Not the book, but me! All my passions can be tied back to where I live. I LIVE IN HELL! Really! I live in one of the poorest cities in the country! Yes the whole US of A and I live in one of the top 5 poorest. 

As we drove back home i was just getting madder and madder. Junk cars everywhere, burned out buildings and houses. Some once meth labs! And a god damn christian church on every corner! All the yard signs saying how  YOU NEED JESUS! I WILL PRAY FOR YOU!!! These are the same people who WILL NOT clean their yards , because they know any second now JESUS is coming in the rapture, they will just leave it all to BURN! 

They dont even know who Jesus is! Who God is!! DO I ? YES I DO! ITS ME! Its in me! There is where I have fallen short! I cant blame anyone but me!

 I use to volunteer in this community to try and make it better and for 6 years of no pay and hard work, ware and tare on a car, missing time with my son..... the mayor turned bad and got in league with a drug dealer and I just had to walk away! 

Im in conservative Christian white man land, really there are no blacks or mexicans here, Donald Trump loving, hump your dog, gay bashers....... where a over weight, black headed woman has NO VOICE! I might have had more if i was hot. Men will at least LOOK at you, they still dont listen. 

All my passions go to... i have to get out of here! I want to see beauty and opportunities for me and my son. Im stuck! My husband already knows this and is working his ass off trying to make the money so he can get me out of here. Unfortunately i think he would be just fine if we stayed here. I asked him his passions... he said his life was bliss..... is me in misery his bliss? Do I really want the answer to that? I could walk away right now! This place has too many bad memories and everyday its getting uglier. But till my son is out of the house, here I sit!

My sister said “ i hardly notice the junk”. 

WHAT? Its all I see!!!! I think I will get out tomorrow and take pictures from one end to the other. Good and bad! On the main roads, that travellers are seeing. Why ? Why waste gas ? Who am I going to show the pictures to? For what purpose? I wonder if I can start a go fund me to get me the hell out of here? No with all this being said. Every time i get this pissed it usally ends up to my good. Right now I dont see how, but who knows. 

I got home and im so tired and a little annoyed i start getting a headache. I know its partly from no caffeine and me and sister ate out and I ate way too much and my fat gut was not feeling good. SOOOOOO I think along with this blogging kick.... im also going back on the HCG diet. I have pigged out of 2 days, so tomorrow.... back to the VLCD. 

I really should get on the treadmill. I dont know if i should run or just sit here and cry? Calgon.... take me away!

The Passion Test - Scam or Treasure Map?

The other day someone very close and important to me voiced their opinion that what I do, giving The Passion Test, is a scam. "Who would pay $300 to find out what their Passion is?" 

First of all, I don't charge quite that much. Yet.

Second of all, it's a great question, isn't it? My Ego stood up straight and stomped its feet for a few minutes, but once I breathed into it, I was grateful for the opportunity to consider the answer, to find the gift. 

Who would pay to learn their Passions?

I let my mind drift and flow through the river of my thoughts and  wondered, is that really what people are paying for? 

Absolutely not. No one is coming to me just for the answer to what lights their fire. Deep in their hearts, they know what matters and they know they aren't living in a way that honors themselves. They feel discord in their lives and they want harmony. People come to me to find their voice, to see an example of courageous living, to see proof that it can be done.  What they are paying for, what they really want to know is, "How can I feel alive again?" 

How can I feel? How can I return to my essence after a lifetime of programming to live from the outer as opposed to the inner? How can I reunite with that state of wonder and joy that I came into this physical form experiencing? Who will give me permission to do so? 

I will. I give you permission. I am a light that reflects yours - the one you can no longer see, yet you feel is there somewhere. This is my gift. To help you see yours and only if you want to. I help you to acknowledge and allow into your life a feeling of happiness. I help you allow the awareness that it's ok to be happy, even when life isn't perfect. Preparing for My Fall 2014 SF Bay Area Visit

I'm finishing my summer writing retreat in Ashland and making plans to be in the SF Bay Area from September 22 through October 4.

In addition to seeing hypnotherapy clients, I'll be inviting folks who are ready now to prioritize what matters most to them to take part in a 3-hour, small-group session that will speed up the process. (I like to use The Passion Test for this.) I'll also be hosting conversations about making what Jane Fonda has called the third act of life your most creative and fulfilling.  

Both of these are challenging subjects that many people find hard to approach alone.
