Okay but Trudeau didn’t invent the constitution. Ever heard of the division of powers?
Justin Trudeau runs the Federal Government.
He has the power to change the Criminal Code without opening the constitution. He did that by passing a Trans Rights bills a couple of years back.
Human Rights, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Criminal Code is under Federal Jurisdiction. Conversion Therapy in that sense is under Federal Jurisdiction.
Justin Trudeau could have explicitly criminalized Conversion Therapy at the Federal Level.
He choose not to, and used a pathetic ‘but healthcare is provincial jurisdiction’ excuse. This is much more of a human rights issue than it is a healthcare issue.
