When it comes to great, strong, female characters in movies, I don't think Rose from Titanic is mentioned enough.

She is a bright young woman who starts off trapped, depressed and suicidal and with the help and inspiration from Manic pixie dream boy Jack she gets enough strength to ditch her horrible life and, within hours, she stands up to her abusers, tells off her mother, spits on Cal's face, single handedly saves the man she loves (while pushing and punching other men in the process), she decides to stay on the ship until the end with Jack, she survives the sinking and the freezing cold and then goes on to live the best life she can with no regrets.

I just think she deserves more credit
