i found if you put something between the c stick and your thumb it works a lot better, like a screen cloth or something, because when you play for a while and your hands start to sweat it’s so easy to slide right off and feel like it should work

My dad's friend is a violinist and had a 3/4 size violin that he doesn't play very much that was just taking up space in his house and I expressed an interest in it so he brought it over

I'm not sure what's so impossible about that

i feel the same way. like when i hear people just casually saying mean things about someone like just to be mean it amazes me. like why waste your energy you know

There are times when I fly off the handle and I am that person.  But the worst part about me is that I never talk shit about strangers but if I'm angry for whatever reason in a particular moment I can be the meanest to the people I care about most and I really hate that about myself.  But even when I am that way, at least I admit that I need to apologize.  And I do it, and mean it.  I know that even if I felt like I needed to talk shit in that moment, it wasn't worth it in the long run.  I feel like meanness is a reflex for so many people, and they never come to a level of self-awareness about it, or see it as a problem even if they know about it, and it bothers me.  It bothers me that empathy is somehow so easy to lose.

(Also I think there is such a thing as constructive meanness, but that's not what I'm talking about here)

that post just gave me the weirdest flashback to my pre-k days. like my friend had brought in those 3d stickers or whatever, the ones that aren't flat, but like I was like HEY LET'S PRETEND THEY'RE EARRINGS and i stuck one on my right ear and just havin a good good time, but then the teacher was like HEY THAT'S THE WRONG EAR and i had no idea what he was talking about bc i was like 5 lmao

You mean the like Google thing about "which ear is the right ear"?  omg lol. I don't know if that's hilarious or sad.  This 5 year old picked the "non-heterosexual ear" to put a sticker on let us weep for the future of America

16: One of your favorite classical songs

I actually really enjoy opera.  Most people don’t really know that because I don’t usually have occasion to talk about it.  I started learning about it in high school on my own through scrounging around Youtube because I was/am a singer and wanted to have a clearer understanding of what the voice is capable of. I have a lot of favorite arias, but I’m picking just a few: “La Mamma Morta” from Andrea Chénier, “Vissi D’Arte” from Tosca, “Chi il bel sogno di doretta” from La Rondine, and ”Les oiseaux dans la charmille” from Les Contes d’Hoffman. My favorite choral piece is probably Whitacre’s “A Boy and a Girl”.  Offhand my favorite orchestral piece is Ravel’s “Bolero”, but I’m not nearly as familiar with band/orchestral repertoire as I am with vocal repertoire.

"Sunshine Smile" by Adorable.  Can’t help it.  I love me some dream pop/shoegaze.  Adorable needs to do a reunion tour or something
