So last night, i couldnt fly out to #paris because my passport is 2 months from expiring... I didnt know there are laws where countries request that someones passport not be near expiring. In this case europe requires 3 months. I was heartbroken but had to get back up. I rescheduled my flight for today and here i stand in line waiting for #embassy to open so i can get an emergency passport. . . Lost Passport help
Hey guys, my sister lost her passport while in korea and needs to get back by next week for start of classes. Weve looked online and the embassy website. The most info we can find was to make an appointment (we did, but the earliest time slot we could go is Aug 16th) and that we need a police report. Google searches have told us we need proof of identity but that a drivers license is not enough. Thats all she has on her. A reply from the embassy states they can speed up the process if we provide an airline ticket showing urgency. Her flight was today and i had to change it to an open ticket earlier to avoid a no show. We cant afford to book a ticket unless the embassy can guarantee she will get some documents by then. The question now is, if anyone has been through this, how quick is the embassy on issuing temporary passports and is it worth the gamble to book a flight for next week now? What other proofs of identity do they require/ accept if she has none on her? Are temp passports only issued if you have a booked flight?
