One night in Bangkok, part II. The night continued with dinner at Paste! Paste serves traditional Thai cuisine in a plush, trendy atmosphere that reminded me a bit of Las Vegas. With upbeat lounge music setting the tone, cocktails continued to flow as an avalanche of tasty dishes descended on the table - crab, crispy prawns, an incredibly unique dish that included watermelon and salmon roe, and a spicy (and I do mean spicy!) lamb curry. But my favorite dishes of the night were the half duck (of course) and the other-worldly chocolate dome. I don’t often get excited about dessert, but this chocolate dome was somehow ripped from my dreams! It featured my two favorite fruits - mango and passion fruit - encased in a delicious Valrhona dark chocolate glaze and accented by gold leaf for good measure. For me it does not get much better than that!
