Repost from @horstmanncattleco According to @rodaleinstitute, “97% of commercial hogs are raised in small, indoor, concrete-floored pens.” There are many things wrong with this—animal welfare being a big one. • Our pastured pigs are free to express their natural behaviors. When they are on pasture, they have access to a diversity of plants and insects that keep them healthy and entertained, and also help give them nutrients that they normally wouldn’t get in a confined, concrete setting. This provides you with wholesome nutrient-dense food. • While they are enjoying those plants and insects, they are also helping regenerate the land by fertilizing our pastures naturally and trampling or eating the weeds that would normally be sprayed with toxic chemicals on most farms. • At Horstmann Cattle Company, all of our animals spend their whole lives out on pasture, eating the forages and grasses they love while helping regenerate our farm. We are truly proud to say that we have some of the happiest animals you’ll ever see. 🐷🐮🐔🐐 • Feel free to check out our website and subscribe to our email list to learn more about upcoming meat delivery dates and when we'll have pastured pork available. You can find that here👇🏼 • www.horstmanncattleco.com • Our next meat delivery to the St. Louis area is this Saturday, June 6th. • • • #pasturedpigs #pasturedeverything #natural #itonlymakessense #regenerativefarming #nongmo #antibioticfree #noaddedhormones #humane #healthyandhappy https://www.instagram.com/p/CA_p36xFENn/?igshid=1kzuemrvuu6so
