Pat Powdrill "The Luckiest Girl In Town" (Reprise 0286, 1964)
For most of The Ikettes, their tenure in the group was their launching pad to music careers. But for one Pat Powdrill, it was just another detour in an already experienced performing career.
She was one of the harem of singers that floated around Gold Star studios, and her perky, endearing vocals found their way to 3 singles for Reprise and 2 for Downey before she got behind Ike and Tina and "Doot Doot Doot"-ed across the country. One of her finest moments was this Bo Diddley meets Heatwave pledge of undying love found on her final Reprise single.
