tbh i kinda want abolish to be scott goldsmith's personal boogeyman. maybe he catches a glimpse every so often of someone who surely can't be abolish because it's been centuries, but they're suspiciously familiar and he can never get close enough to confirm or deny. someone who was cured can't be turned again, right...? but he can never be quite sure if it's his eyes/subconscious playing tricks or if abolish somehow found a way to watch him beyond a human lifespan. the sightings remind goldsmith of the atrocities he's capable of, and keep him from growing complacent enough to return to old habits
