i dont know if im vibing with Gates quite as much, but tbh a lot of that is bc of the change to job structure i think. my fav thing to do in Explorers was to just do a ton of jobs at once ;w;

also not sure how i feel about the "building up Paradise" thing now that its like. a mechanic. tbh im glad i saved a bunch of jobs when i did bc now every reward is paradise materials when i could really have more held items tbh. do we have rocks. are rocks throwable in gates.

(does definitely make the name Team Terraform more fitting though bc boy howdy am i terraforming)

story-wise, Victini is hilarious. we went through the effort to set up the v-wave board and everything only for this fucking fireball rat to crash-land and nearly obliterate us all on impact. V-WHEEEEEEL!

(also very jarring to like.. man, legendaries are just casually Here, huh? like we've already got Virizion on the team, and now Victini is here doing Victini things.)

River just got woken up in the middle of the night by the Munna dream so i think im coming up on more actual plot progression, so. we'll see how that goes! probably later tonight or maybe tomorrow idk, i havent been feeling well today so weeeee will seeeeeee . yayyyy

WELL im at least at the stage of "whatever" where im getting blorbo blender ideas again. i mean its all pokemon-related but its a start and ive got, like, 4 different pokemon-related things rattling around in there, two of which are potential comics. which i will gladly take after half a year of doing ~fuckall~

first impressions: wow this game wants me dead. fighting my way through the dungeons feels like such a slog compared to sky. i dont need vullabys eating blast seeds and nearly killing me this early in. or having to retry the first boss twice - technically a miniboss i guess bc it happens partway through the dungeon - because i kept getting utterly stomped. i am REALLY not looking forward to when things start getting "hard for real".

character-wise, i like everybody! Virizion was a bad first impression but i think thats the point. we can fix her. River and Emolga are unified in the job of being little haters i think. we're all going to teach Post Town the power of friendship whether they like it or not

and, of course, i love Mesa. i like the idea of the Paradise and how that's tying into the idea of, like, bonding and trusting each other and having a piece of the world that isn't the wretched hive of scum and villainy etc that they keep making everywhere else out to be. theyre very The PMD Partner and im curious if theyre gonna get any development like Archer did and how their beliefs are going to be tested now that they're actively getting the Paradise off the ground

something i noticed is that River is a tiny bit more chatty than Zeta was! Mesa still leads conversations, but River actually says a couple things out loud to people rather than it being entirely internal monologue. its a little thing, but its fun. idk i know VERY little abt the gates hero & partner bc nobody talks about gates so im very curious abt where they go from here
