Now for a bit of history. Super Mario 64 ROM hacking really only became popular after the invention of a level editor by VL-Tone. He has since disappeared from the ROM hacking scene due to lack of free time. Frauber/Messiaen created a level import tool to modify the level geometry. This has lead to many cool demos such as a certain Banjo Kazooie level in SM64.
This is the first fully completed hack of SM64, and it's what helped push it to develop. Some may say it was for the worst, but I think it's for the better.
