I listened to the final episode of this set just in time, because the fourth set was just released today! I still have the behind the scenes features to listen to, but I’m done with the stories. I really felt like this series got much more into the characters this time around. I go to work a little later on Monday mornings, so I had time to listen to the next episode in this set. I needed the humor of this series today, and there were more than a few laugh out loud moments. I also appreciated how the series is adding depth & complexity to the characters, making it an increasingly compelling listen. Finally listening to the third Paternoster Gang series from @bigfinishprod since the fourth—out this month—has a Christmas story in it. Not only was this a fun story on its own, but it looks like it’s setting up some stuff for future stories. And it adds a lot of depth to both Vastra and Jenny. Another week, and the stories of another box set completed. I really love the humor & performances in this series. I suppose it’s appropriate that, just in time for Halloween, what should have been a relatively calm week has become a horror story. Thanks, job. Whatever. At least I’m starting “my Friday” (or do I mean Fri-yay?) with a hilarious story. This episode features a guest appearance by classic literary ghost finder Thomas Carnacki, and is so much fun! It really plays with the idea of storytelling, and makes a lot of the juxtaposition of what is told and what actually happens. And funnily enough, I just read a horror comic last night written by @guyadams, the writer of this episode.
